Oxfordshire County, UK

In January 2010, Europe was plagued by heavy snow, ice and the coldest temperatures reported in over 15 years.  Causing havoc on air and ground travel, thousands across England felt the brunt of the winter storm that affected regions of the country including the Thames Valley.

In cooperation with Executek associate Gary Foo, who led ERT Search and Rescue, a United Nations recognised Disaster Response Search and Rescue team, ERT SAR was deployed and tasked to provide support to Emergency Services in Oxfordshire including the Police, Fire and Ambulance (SCAS), as well as the County Council as part of the response a Category 1 Responders under the Civil Contigencies Act (CCA). With Medical Response 4x4 vehicles equipped with Communications, Command Support, Technical Rescue, Road Traffic, and special navigation and access equipment, the team carried medical gear, medical gases, defibrillators, trauma packs and splints, food and water, rescue gear, ropes, snow, grit, and mats, etc to those in need in remote areas of the county.
